A bunny is a low level pilot. If you don't get points from shooting a ship, that ship is a bunny in reference to you. For example:
- Level 5s do not get points for shooting level 2s or below.
- Level 4s do not get points for shooting level 1s.
It is considered bad form to shoot a bunny as it turns people away from playing the game, which is bad for everyone. Sometimes, for tactical purposes, shooting bunnies is considered OK, such as when clearing a sector to remove scans from the enemy or shooting bunny reppers thought to be carrying scrap.
There may be a point loss penalty for shooting a bunny depending on the current game settings.
